Mistakes
Left alone to ponder
I count my many mistakes
I should have been your everything
And done whatevever it takes
I should have been willing to listen
To the things you had to say
I should have always been there
Instead of walking away
I should have counted every tear
That rolled down your precious face
And gave you my every moment
But I said, "I needed space"
I can't ask you to forgive me
For you no longer know my name
I am just a forgotten memory
And you will never feel the same
I never brought you flowers
Or bought you that special card
And now your heart is empty
And probably even scarred
I just wanted you to know
My heart forever breaks
For all the pain I caused you
As I'm counting my mistakes
