Mistaken

Decaying in the sands of sorrow
Plagued this humanity has been.
Fighting each day for the morrow
Praying to achieve a world unseen.

Searching a means to survival
Pretending to be living almost.
Waiting for death's arrival
Destiny that's crippled and lost.

Illusions seems to allow
Settling for the sake of chance.
Obtaining some taste of now
Cursed with fate's romance.

Hoping this turns out well
Imagining world a heaven.
Alone crawling in hell
Scared what will happen.

A broken fallen winter leaf
Wrote unjust feeling of forsaken.
Drifting shattered, left brief
Hoping to be told I'm mistaken.

This is deep. The world can be a cruel place, life can be tough and the future so uncertain. Your poem tells it all. Good day
