Notes About The Poem

Mist On the River

Mist rises quiet
Thru the liquid reflection
A river’s silence
~
Foggy mornings weigh
Gentle on my thoughts, my heart
Cooling my spirit
~
Sweet whispers grumble
Across smooth stones, in rapids
Venturing past pines
~
The edge of midnight
Soothing as a soft creek flow
Through whimsical joy
~
Moonlight reflects hope
Against the water’s deftness
Calling the calm shore

'...across venturing pines:' What a beautiful, promise-wrapped image, Gina! So nice. Thanks for this haiku treat! Season's best, Gershon
