Misspent Youth
The face I see in the mirror
Is lined with fun-filled years
With hope and disillusion
Some laughter and some tears
I spent my youth not knowing
What life would give to me
Those years of pleasure seeking
In an effort to be free
I've loved and well quite often
At times I've been alone
I planted many memories
Have reaped the seeds I've sown
Life has been good to me it's true
And also it's been sad
But friends and family abound
They are the best I've had
However,I'm filled with regret
For dreams that came undone
With youthful pride I played my hand
And lost them every one
When I look back on things I've done
Quite amazing I'm alive!
Perhaps the road was meant to wind
To this place I arrive
So now I wish for luck and love
In this world I have made
Youth not forgotten yet I know
Such is the price I've paid
