Good luck in the contest. My children were born in Texas, Sulphur Springs, but I haven't been back for a long time. Your area sounds lovely.

Hello Lucy, This is my favorite poem of the month. I'm a Valley Girl Myself, My daughter's family lives out there by Mission. I will always long and crave for the Rio Grande Valley... Yeah WESLACO, TEXAS!!! Mission, is still on the grow, that's what I love about the valley. You got to see it to believe it, the warm welcomes, The Best Tex _ Mex food... When I was a Kid we lived in Browns Ville Texas and spent a lot of time on Padre Island. I think there was a bad oil splill there some years later. The one thing that still comes to mind was that it was always windy there.

I used to live in Texas and I have heard of Mission, but I don't believe I've ever been there! Are you close to Brownsville? I believe you are very far in South Texas! I really enjoyed reading this enlightening poem here this evening!! What a powerful piece! Great Work!!
