Missing You

It seems to me it's been awhile. Since I've had the pleasure of your smile. Our private talks throughout the day. And especially our times of play! It's been so quiet since you've been gone. Without you near - it feels so wrong! Home is where the heart is - we know this to be true. But right now I'd give anything - just to be with you! Although there are others around - it's really not the same. The bond that we share is brighter than any candles flame! I know that you are watching over me - wherever you may be. And one day when it's time - your face again I'll see! Footnote: I wrote this poem about my Mother. She passed away in 2010 on the morning of Dad's birthday. She was the one who got me into poetry and it is my dream to get all my poems published to not only finish what we started but to also honor her memory.
