Missing Yesterday Tonight

MISSING YESTERDAY TONIGHT
Music & Lyrics by Joan May Donnelly Ellis (September, 2014)

Just remembering how close we were two hearts joined as one,
Our daily walks, the silent talks beneath stars or radiant sun.
You filled my life with joy unknown and at times a bit of pain,
Still you gave me hope, you helped me cope...
 Time and time again.
I know you're still out there somewhere,
 Conquering darkness through your light,
As I feel melancholy and so alone,
 Missing yesterday, tonight

Isn't it funny how memories find a way in and cling to a wounded heart,
Yet I still reminisce of your kiss so tender,
On the day we had to part.
You held my hand and smiled at my awkward way.
I was a Queen, and you, my King,
Until destiny came in to play.
I hope we find each other in some tomorrow,
And the timing is blissfully right,
Until then songs of you I will pen.
 Missing yesterday, tonight.

Joan this is so tender. He was a special man. Written full of love and warmness. Beautiful to know you had that kind of love for someone and they for you....
