Missing My Mom
A small part of me took flight
on that fatal day,
as I watched her
slowly slip away !
It was 12 years ago
she had to depart,
but she still lives
here within my heart !
I did what I felt was right,
but something went wrong
somehow that week,
and now she is gone !
Her essence is all around
and surrounds me,
keeping alive
each memory !
No matter how long I live,
I will always see
her lovely face,
smiling back at me !
