Missing Melissa
The sky fades to black.
You lie on your back.
It’s time for your dreams to take flight.
You gaze at the stars
Through those hard iron bars
And you’re missing Melissa tonight.
You won’t get no thanks
For robbing those banks.
Your chance of redemption is slight.
You’ll pay for your crime
One slow day at a time,
And be missing Melissa each night.
You lived by the gun.
What’s done has been done.
Don’t know if it’s wrong or it’s right,
But one thing I’m sure,
You’ll be pacing the floor
While you’re missing Melissa tonight.
