Missed Opportunity

An inch past the worst sizzlin heat
since Yahweh created Summer,
boy 'twould have been supremely sweet
to load up the trusty Hummer
and head cross the continent's breeze
to chill under mountains neath pine trees.

You make it sound more than interesting it already is. Shouldn't this come under "Rhyme" to? You've done a great job with it.

This year kind of gives new meaning to "the long hot summer", I agree, and I thought your poem expressed this vividly. A superb verse!
