Miss Modesty Marvel

Miss Modesty Marvel was indeed a great soul
True to her name and bearing : perfect
Yes, in what she spoke and all she did
Treating with amity the hale, pale, odd or the morbid ;
With soft worded tone and visual charm would deflect
Any oncoming adversary or things foul;
Goodness is what goodness does aloft
In deeds, compassion, warmth ,ample and oft .

Being selfless ,she grew up doing her best
To console the crying and those in distress
Sharing her food and belongings the moment
She saw  Misfortune slap the broken and bent ;
From her gleaming eyes the glow of hope express ,
Glided along the victim in the lost quest ;
Strange enough : good words do console
Even those who lose and forget their role

Such virtuous stars drop from the heavenly store
And like gems are found ,if sought to explore .
