Misery's Hold

I will not waste away in the streets of such unbearable nightmares where I silently weep I will survive the rainstorm of lament and listen to the mesmerizing murmurs of the deep I am alive in the shadows beneath your vivacious feet - Your reflections are as beautiful as sun-shining wheat I see a rainbow in the sky beyond the weeds of devastating doubt I suddenly heave a single sigh and then walk His illuminating route Why do you want to hurt me? Why does it seem like I’m trapped in your misery’s hold for good? I wander in the woods of my everlasting woes, feeling misunderstood - you knew where I stood Shadows consume me completely as nighttime slowly approaches My mind is meandering in many directions like a million roaches Everyone seems to panic these darksome days Everyone seems extremely manic in many ways Raindrops from bitter clouds will be your desire and set our skies on fire - We’re still trying to do God’s wonderful Will We are hanging by a very thin thread on this wire of our wretched ire… Hanging on to farewells and goodbyes still I tried my best to follow the rhythm of your heartbeats in the dead of night You must detest yesterday’s disarray and look forward to tomorrow’s light I will not waste away, but I will eventually survive this squalid day of dire dismay I am alive in misery’s hold, but I must be bolder than before and be not led astray Chasing spirits of the past into the sand of the emotional ocean Carving my name upon the ground of such silent commotion I will not break away or wither away this fine day I will replace this dark frown with a smile any day Chasing the ghosts of the future upon the frame of my thoughtful mind’s eye Chanting a tune of relief upon my grief for a brief moment that I can’t deny Peace will prevail Let our hearts not fail Regain our strengths and faithfulness Or we will end up, lost in the abyss Of our misery’s dreadful hold Hatred has left us barren and cold Peace will prevail Let our joyful minds sail Regain our fearless, jubilant magnificence And we will end up, found in deliverance That will let serenity unfold... Bred with benevolence, left untold I’m not blind anymore - if I was, then I’m sorry in advance… I’ve been hit to the core - deliver us from misery’s trance I will not cry these traumatic tears of shame anymore For the mere sake of your hopeless happiness in store I am mended by the scars of the past amidst a river of radiance I take pride in the glory days, brewing away the utter distress and nourishing the seed of efflorescence I tried my best to break free from misery’s hold, Letting unfold my wings of flight that’s left untold I must be bold and fight the urge to release these words of frightfulness and fear I’m left behind in the cold from the flames of losing life’s game - strife grins ear to ear Peace will prevail Let our hearts not fail Regain our strengths and faithfulness Or we will end up, lost in the abyss Of our misery’s dreadful hold Hatred has left us barren and cold Peace will prevail Let our joyful minds sail Regain our fearless, jubilant magnificence And we will end up, found in deliverance That will let serenity unfold... Bred with benevolence, left untold I will arrive done in the meadows of your handprints Your trace of memories in mind are full of beauty tints I will flutter away like a butterfly in the wilderness of passionately beloved dreams I will survive the thunderstorm of morose misery and drown in serenity’s streams I will not waste away in the streets of such unbearable nightmares where I silently weep I will survive the rainstorm of lament and listen to the mesmerizing murmurs of the deep I am alive in the shimmering shadows beneath your feet of sheltering heat - I will survive these endless waves of emotions that leave us feeling incomplete I will not waste away like a paperless notebook and inkless pen, Even if it means bearing your misery’s hold in my heart all over again
