Misconception
The "We" of you and I
Was my misconception
Brought on by
My heart's deception and
My want of you.
So with apologies
To you,
I step back,
Taking a real good look
At what I thought was
That wasn't...
My misconception
Brought on my
My heart's deception, and
My want of you.
I should have known when you
Held my hand,
Held me in your arms,
Caressed me,
It was merely your deception.
With apologies to you,
My heart and I depart,
Oh God!
What a misconception,
We thought you
Wanted us too!
