Mirrors

Eyes speak untold pain
Nights when you’ve tried
But can’t come in from the rain
I’m here to be your shelter
To protect you from
The bad hands that life has dealt her
To change your mind about love
No need for winter coats and gloves
Love is a long summer day warm
Emotional wave of non turbulent sea storms

Eyes hide reasoned hate
Five months ago he hurt you
To the exact minute date
But such is life and life is fate
Here comes the realness you’ve prayed for
Maybe not the right package
But my heart beats much more
Here to relieve the pain
Bring your heart back to world sane
Can I teach you to love again?
