Mirror Mirror On the Wall

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

By Joeysguy

Mirror mirror on the wall
Who is the loneliest person of all

This mirror that hangs on my wall
For a long time and never did fall

I use to lift my kids when they were small
To look in the mirror on the wall

After a few years the kids grew tall
They no longer needed my help to look in the mirror on the wall

Looking in the mirror for many years
With smiles and even some tears

In that mirror I would see my life
Standing with me, my kids and my wife

Now in front of that mirror what do I see
Standing there, only me

I think of hanging pictures on the opposite wall
So the mirror would show me the image of us all

What the mirror has shown
That I will go through life on my own

My pain never goes away
Sometimes it's stronger each day

Some interesting self-reflection there; your mirror grows you.

This is written honestly, from the heart, and it makes me happy for the love you had, but sad that you are going through such pain. I cannot fathom this type of pain.

If you want to talk, I will listen. It is up to you. I will listen by reading what you say.

It's my true life, I lost my wife. My kids grown and moved away, I'm in my house everyday. Thank you for reading and comment.

Michael: What you see in a mirror is actually a direct opposite of the real you. Your left is right and your right left. :o) Decide today, what your "real life" should look like and go get it. Thanks for sharing this moving work with all of us on the soup. oldbuck

such heartbreak in every line Micheal. there are so many lonely people and it is so evident especially at this time of year ... relationships break down, children fly the nest and sadly people pass away and we can feel so alone:-( my very best wishes for Christmas and new year:-) hugs jan xx adding this gem to my faves:-)
