Mirror Mirror

Mirror, mirror on the wall.
Your reflection is one I don't recall.
Who is this reflection staring back at me,
with his weather beaten face and distinct crow's feet?
Where once there was hair
there's now nothing up there.
All of the scalp's follicles it appears
has migrated to the nose and ears.
This reflection displays one of many years.
The image begins to shed some tears.
This can't possibly be yours truly.
I look like I've aged a century,
and then I'm struck with the hard cold reality.
I have more years behind than ahead of me.
Mirror, mirror on the wall.
I don't enjoy your reflection anymore at all.

We all have to forget the whole bloody shock of it! Look in that mirror and say "Man you've got experience, personality and a sense of humour and the child inside still there, what more can we ask of life but to be ALIVE!(a poet I so enjoy stated ALIVE in his poem it is now stuck in my head and so describes how I feel, wrinkles and all mate!)

good one Billy....hit it right on about the follicles traveling to the nose and ears..that's funny. I remember the first time the barber asked me if I wanted him to trim my ears ...I said "Huh?" never noticed it before. Thought that only happened to older people ..... hhmmm

I started to lose my hair when I was 17. It was gone by the time I was 30. I'm now 53 and I had a dream last week that I looked into the mirror and had hair again. I thought, oh no, now I'm gonna have to explain this to people.
