Please don't take my comment as a criticism, I appreciate writing that causes me to stop and ponder. In the end is not writing a conduit to conversation?

A soul is eternal so I wonder if it can ever be old. I think that sin lives within the temporary body we inhabit and occupying this body is designed to teach the soul what otherwise it could not experience.

Ah man's capacity for self-reflection, Kim! Isn't it beautiful? This could result to true conversion or at least a realization of one's wickedness. The latter, at least, indifference and/or alienation with one'S reality is broken. I love this haiku!

By the grace of God, we have been gifted our being able to be reborn by confessing our sins then repenting of them so that our new self will be discovered and we will be good looking in the mirror .. As usual, I enjoy reading your poems .. Bless you my dear friend :)

What a pleasant surprise this beautiful morning, my friend. I am happy to finally hear from you! For a while I was worried! I see that your self-appointed hiatus has resulted in your being more in touch with spirituality. Thank you for the thoughts you have shared on my creative piece. You are a valued friend...May all your endeavors, present and future, be successful for His greater glory. Hope to read one of yours soon. Friendly hugs and smiles from the land of thousand isles,,,:D

Wow, a breathtaking Haiku you've composed, Kim. Excellent imagery and excellent theme. Even when old, sometimes our old habits we have not changed. Looking in a mirror sometimes takes a lot of courage when we know there is something in our life that has not been changed, whether that be a physical aspect or a spiritual one. Thought provoking piece; I may have drifted in thought a bit! Forgive me! Thank you for your kind support on my poetry. Always, Laura

Thank you Laura. Glad that my humble attempt has touched you and made a connection. You are a blessing, and your own works are as much a pleasure for me to delve into as my own tentative steps into self-expression, if not more. Friendly smiles from the land of thousand isles...Kim:)

Thanks for the visit, Andrea. Glad that you liked it. Old Soul poetry is not a form, rather it refers more to the theme of a poem ...the experiences, ruminations, reflections, reminiscences of the writer who, more often than not, is advanced in years as the name suggests. One of the more well-known collections come from George MacDonald, a Scottish pastor. PoetrySoup has several of them, William J. Jr. Atfield, to name one. As for Limericks, I like them because I get to have a good laugh, after reading some really serious and sad pieces. All the best, Kim:)

Thank you, sire, for the glowing comment and the 7. More, for the warm welcome...indeed we've read each other's works before, but I've been remiss, and was absent for sometime. God bless you more. Smiles from the land of thousand isles...Kim :)

Anyway Kim, you are most welcome. A flaw in my character is – I do not have the knowledge, the experience or the wisdom to pass judgment on one’s abilities, talents or technical prowess, - so my mouth / my one finger hunt and pick typing are usually silent - because I tend to deal with my understanding of the essence of a thing rather then it’s structure or the visual representation of the painting before me. Sorry !!! Never fear my Dear, “ Hope my creative attempts do not disappoint... ” that is not likely !!!

My dear Kim Patrice Nunez : “ A bit of both, sire...and don't forget the inspiration... ”. I am sorry Kim, I am not sure if I know or even knew what the “ inspiration...” was, other than insight reflected upon the looking glass that took Alice into the rabbit hole ??? Thank you my Dear, although I do not understand why “ What a nice surprise to see you on my page. ” for I do believe that I made reference to reading everything you have submitter, put on poetrysoup.

The only land I know of that houses a thousand isles is the St Laurence River and although I have driven its length a couple of times, and road upon it, I have never met you in that land ???, and if you are in or from Croatia “ the land of a thousand isles ” then definitely, not met you there but certainly might explain “ on this fine and sunny morning from the land of thousand isles.”, although it does not explain what appears as a British education, as do your first names. Your last name coming from a Spanish heritage - maiden or married - would indicate that the “ land of thousand isles ”, Spane, not being far from Croatia is, in all likelihood, The Croatian Islands Anyway my Dear, enough of the guessing games . You do take good care Kim Patrice Nunez, and continue to create !!! B. J. “A” 2 ( Bill .)

You will have to forgive me Kim, I must be as thick as a brick ???,for I am unable to see a pun or not a pun in “ Cheers, with coffee and a toast ” unless you are substituting coffee for champagne and toast for a toast. My inabilities aside, thank you Kim, for the thought and a reminder that the sun is shining somewhere – rub it in - even if it is not on the Polish Princesses dogs, and I, as I walk them under gray and crying B. C. skies. I am assuming that “ the land of thousand isles ” from which you send your smiles, is in the British isles, except there are not a thousand isles, yet your vocabulary seems to indicate Britten ???
