Mirror

I have to get out of the mirror.
I think there is a cure.
I heard a sound from the other side.
Reminding me of when I had died.
Reminding me of when the faces held still.
Nothing was morphing as I relaxed on that hill.

Why is it that I can see more than one?
I thought I had eaten the last cinnamon bun.
There’s always one more.
Of that treat I bought at the store.

I think I live happily.
In this parallel universe that expands more everyday.
I have to get out of the mirror.
There is fear.

I think those desserts on the counter aren’t real.
I guess in this place, we can’t taste or feel.

I think there is a cure- In time-
Slime. Lime. Climb.

A game of rhyming becomes lost.
When everyone else has double crossed.
I think there is a sound.
It’s just the background.
It’s just part of the simulation or something.
It’s as unreal as a dog on a swing.

I think I should get out of the mirror pretty soon.
But what’s another noon?
Behind the harsh glass, I can cry.
Pry, and, try, and lie.
