Mirage

It's all make believe, isn't it?,
                      Marylin Monroe

Foundation smeared grid of Facebook likes
saccharine coated lies, pretending the truth.
Advertised love, behind every pretty picture
makes them believe, the wizard and his spell
Blurry eyes enticed, in aureole golden water
an allure of distance, shimmering a mirage.
Tears smear down...perhaps only pain is real
