when the words I read
are ingested into
my core with
musclebrawn extreme
I emancipate my
ingenuity

unpretentious
indisputable
feeding the needs
tides of Vesuvius
squalls on the sun
purple veinlets
bloodcot prisoners
pet chaffinch that
peck wounds clean
hands of clocks folded
children of villages stolen
held in mushroom clouds
on ocean floors until
we are held no more
panic stricken fish
struggling to breathe
as they gasp for air
we do not care as
Kurt said: they have
no feelings
even rats hold a minute’s silence
as hearts pound up our throats
and whiz bangs go off in heads
cold thuds in guts make us spin
on the spot looking up to the
sky as it turns black on our backs
