Mind Games

Id and ego are in retreat
have not been able to defeat

The bliss seen in the morning sun
A smile seen by everyone

A life without someone here to hold
An emptiness that can't be told

It's faith that keeps your mind in check
Soldiers all believe, hearing "hit the deck"

People will change and grow in life
God always protects your soul from strife

If unconditional love is what you need
Only faith and trust will grow that seed

Good write Tom ." (without faith it is impossible to please God..) is what the scriptures say.! and how are we to quantify this faith?? If we say there is no such thing; will that deny future generations from having faith? (no) so it exists then beyond The earthly Comprehension..! ( As does the universe )

I'm afraid I have to disagree Tom. God doesn't protect your soul from strife. He isn't an insurance policy. Your faith in the fact that there is a loving God who helps you through these things is what most Christians believe. One of the most wonderful ministers of our church retired and now his wife, who has alzheimers, is lying on her bed dead but breathing still. She was one of the most Christian women I have ever encountered. God didn't protect her soul from strife.

I totally understand what you are saying and honor your position. I believe the soul is the essence and the body is our earthly robe, though I can't pretend to understand his purpose, I believe the soul (essence) of people is carried forward to heaven in his time.
