Minced Words

Give me leg, a breast or a steak A fillet or rump any time For a solid piece of meat to chew Is nothing short of sublime Serve it with rice or slices of bread Chipped potatoes or a veg or two Add a sauce if you'd like for me to try I'll happily share it with you Or mince it and throw it into a pan Brown it off, let it simmer so nice Salt it and add any flavours you wish Add herbs and pepper and spice If you give it a twist, you might make it your own Either bold or subtle is fine Simple or complex, tried and tested or new I'll be ready to sample and dine The same can be said for your poetry and words If you prepare them and treat them with care Then I'll trust you to help fill my mind and my soul I'll devour, if you're willing to share 21/6/16

I like the analogy there David, comparing good food to good poetry you can devour! Love your poem!:)

Thanks Cheryl. Wasn't sure if it would work, but happy enough in the end :)
