Midnight Rain

The wind is playing in the trees
as Luna dims above.
Oh, moist warmth lingers; I'm at ease
while wrapped in silent love.

No television and no noise
just nature's soothing song.
The simple, serene, basic joys
tell me that naught is wrong.

My worries fade into the night
my shoulders lift again.
My mood becomes ever so light
despite the falling rain.

The finest spray of gentle drops
have laced the misty air;
and music plays upon rooftops
relieving me of care.

Oh, it's the clear sweet melody
that plays in midnight rain.
It bathes my soul and sets me free
in ways I can't explain.

Damp kisses fall in disarray
from heaven's open door.
They wash away all my dismay
when I can take no more.

In walks within the midnight rain
where only nature speaks.
I let my weary woes just drain
it's what my sad soul seeks.
