Midnight Pearl

The little girl searched fervently for her lost cat
a gift given to her recently by her uncle Matt
she adored this creature of ebony fur with all her heart
now her beloved pet was gone, tears would soon start

Next day her mother and little brother
helped with the search, as well as others
they searched high and low
until evening under moonlight's glow

One week later the phone rings
someone had found her ebony gem, tears of joy this news did bring
they rushed out to the car
and hastily drove to the caller's address which wasn't too far

Her little heart was racing as Mom rang the doorbell
a happiness overcame her that couldn't be quelled
into her heart poured all the joy in the world
as she hugged and kissed her "midnight pearl"
