Middle Sleep

Between sleep and awake I’m free Navigation comes easy for me Along fault lines of earthquakes I travel With barely a ripple of gravel Equations and troubles I conquer My victories soar above squalor If wakened I hasten my return To slumber in peaceful nocturne O.... the grandeur I reap My magical place middle sleep

A nicely thought out poem. Sleep and dreams are popular subject matter for poets, but you have mined this particular seam quite well.

James, I don't like middle sleep. I just keep thinking that if I don't get back to the "real thing" my whole rest time will be wasted. Anyway, you make it sound very interesting, like something not to be missed! LUv, Andrea

You have taken a pleasant flight of imagination to reap the grandeur in the middle sleep, Jimbo

Isn't it amazing what we can do in that state between consciousness and sleeping? I'll be looking for you as I soar above the earth tonight in this state. Sort of like an out-of-body experience, Jimbo. Love the topic and you did a terrific job with the poem as well. Love, Carolyn
