Meteorological Balloons

It’s been days since I’ve slept
Amazed my body still functions
Brain and body motions
Yet to junction

My mind goes
At an unbelievable pace
Seems as if
In an undefeatable race

People approach
And ask how I’ve been
My reply leaves their thoughts
At a hysterical spin

Ive been drinking for days
And days on end
With all of these women
I seem to befriend

One thing
That always seems true
Is one needs a friend
When they feel low and blue

Pop in some Barry White
When that feeling is right
Everything’s gonna be fine
On this tequila night

Everything will be fine
Come dawn
The sun will shine
Just two people

In hand is a bottle
Radio plays that old soul tune
The two of us are so far gone
Like meteorological balloons

Why waste
A moment like this
All that is needed
Is that first long kiss
