Message Tip
Message tip
She walked into the room
And people noticed her trance.
She choose her own seat
As the people next to he started to stand.
They asked
“Was she lost, or confused in anyway”?
She simply replied
“no, I’m just here to eat today.”
They looked in her eyes
And saw something was not there
They were looking at a black woman
Who wanted to be treated fair.
The waitress came by and kept on walking
And by the 6th time
Of her um clearing her throat.
She stopped at the table ready to take note.
But before this black woman could reply her order.
The waitress said,
“No ham hocks, No watermelon, greens, chicken or chitlins.”
And the woman smiled in a caring way
And said, “sweetie you wouldn’t have enough
Soul took cook that meal anyway,
But since your standing they’re waiting to
take My order
I’ll have a glass of chardonnay,
Come back in five and may be I’ll be ready.”
People came, people left.
But this lady sat at that table two whole hours
Waiting to be fed.
And when she finally received her meal
And it was all done.
She asked for her check
Which got there in less than two minutes.
She paid her bill and then she left.
Pay no attention to the stares or comments
But when the waitress went to the table
Expecting No tip.
There was a written note that said this:
Since you didn’t seem to want my money,
I choose to leave you a message tip.
My strength is more than you know,
My soul is greater than me
To treat each other fairly is all we really need.
Thank you,
For the meal see you tomorrow.
