Message Tip

Message tip She walked into the room And people noticed her trance. She choose her own seat As the people next to he started to stand. They asked “Was she lost, or confused in anyway”? She simply replied “no, I’m just here to eat today.” They looked in her eyes And saw something was not there They were looking at a black woman Who wanted to be treated fair. The waitress came by and kept on walking And by the 6th time Of her um clearing her throat. She stopped at the table ready to take note. But before this black woman could reply her order. The waitress said, “No ham hocks, No watermelon, greens, chicken or chitlins.” And the woman smiled in a caring way And said, “sweetie you wouldn’t have enough Soul took cook that meal anyway, But since your standing they’re waiting to take My order I’ll have a glass of chardonnay, Come back in five and may be I’ll be ready.” People came, people left. But this lady sat at that table two whole hours Waiting to be fed. And when she finally received her meal And it was all done. She asked for her check Which got there in less than two minutes. She paid her bill and then she left. Pay no attention to the stares or comments But when the waitress went to the table Expecting No tip. There was a written note that said this: Since you didn’t seem to want my money, I choose to leave you a message tip. My strength is more than you know, My soul is greater than me To treat each other fairly is all we really need. Thank you, For the meal see you tomorrow.
