Mermaids

Mermaids

Mermaids swimming in a school
‘neath the ocean blue
locks of gold and scales of jewel
sunlight streaming through.

Sailor’s dream this vision is,
sirens of the deep;
playing in the ocean’s fizz,
in a seaman’s sleep.

Fantasies of sheer delight,
visions in the mind;
maritime seductive sight,
searching hard to find.

Joining in this reverie,
where I wish I was;
lost within this fantasy,
dreaming, just because…
