Mermaid

She was sitting in the sand, Building a tower She looked like a mermaid So I told her so She said ‘Thank you,’ And I asked if she was a mermaid She said ‘Do you think I am? Cause I think that that sort of thing is flexible’ I didn’t understand I was only five She said ‘People are how others see them.’ Then I got it ‘So you are a mermaid’ I triumphantly said She just smiled and shook her head I ask ‘then are you an angel?’ She put her finger to her lips I ran to get my mama I told her what I found She laughed and followed me Back to the angel in the sand But there was no one there I never told anyone else I think that mama forgot About that angel mermaid girl On the beach, who disappeared Note-This is a fictional memory. It never actually happened ©Copyright 2015. All rights reserved.
