Mermaid

in the wind her golden hair
flowing long without a care
i knew she was from another land
her brown skin glowing in the sand
she had eyes that stared a thousand miles
and lips that opened to to a hundred smiles
who is she ? i ask myself
my eyes locked on her being 
i cant believe what i am seeing
she turned to me ,offering a hand
with a smile that said come to my land
as she lead me to the ledge 
she left me there and dived over the edge
into the water deep below
now she was home that i know
she surfaced at last
the moment had passed
she waved goodbye ,as she stared at the sky
she was home in the sea
sweet mermaid was she.
