Merlin the - Not So - Magic Cat

[This was my first effort for Mystic Rose
rose’s recent ‘Merlin The Magic Cat’
contest. I wasn’t overly keen and it didn’t
have ‘Meow’ in it. I thought I’d deleted it,
but as I found it lurking in my files I thought
I’d share it…]

Merlin was a magic cat
He grew up in a council flat
On a mat is where he sat
In a very pointy hat

Merlin was a fatty cat
But as he had a spell for that
He waved his wand and said “Howzat”
And then was thinner than a gnat

And so to recap…

The cat in a hat on a mat in a flat
Was fat, said, “howzat,” and was thin as a gnat.

I got it! Instead of "But as he had a spell for that" you could made it "But as he had a meow for that," and you'd've had a winner for sure! As it was, you had one anyway. I wish I could've written a winner, which I didn't!

I’m not sure I found your entry, Milt but I’m sure it was fine. and spooky.’ It alll comes down to the taste of the sponsor (now there’s an expression, with Halloween afoot). Terry

I want that magic cat sat on a mat - To wave his wand o’er me and say ‘Howzat” - So that I become thinner than a gnat - An easy way for one to shed the fat…… Belle

Not to offer negative criticism…. I’ll repeat my comment on your winner. Good thing you ditched this one. ;)

I agree entirely. Jenna. Posted this in a light hearted ‘what kind of fool am I’ kind of way. No, no, you haven’t hurt my feelings, I’m always to be found sobbing in a corner about this time of night! ;-)
