Merge With the Dark

Bleeding above the horizon of Night, a blood-red sun inks scarlet beams of light. And in the blackness of space, amidst stars, Luna rises, unashamed of Her scars. Shifting shadows shrink away from moonbeams; as they start to dance, upon sparkling streams. A chill arrives, riding an evening breeze; rustling the leaves atop the swaying trees. Silence rebukes even the slightest sound, from unseen critters scurrying around. And as scattered shadows merge with the dark: a solitary silhouettes stand stark. As soon as Dawn's light resurrects the sun: rising like a phoenix; Sol's day's begun. And Night's nocturnal critters disappear; waiting for the darkness to reappear.

A delightful read, Emile, and a worthy #1 win with Silent One. I loved the phrase "silence rebukes the slightest sound". Congratulations, my friend ~ John

What's not to love about your poem! From 'shafts of light' , to 'unashamed of her scars', through to the sun 's resurrection. Apt ' shadows merged with darkness ', a beautiful construction, Emile.!
