Mercy in Loves Absence
Though shadows linger where our passions rest,
I dream of you when moonlight softly glows,
Perhaps lost love, in truth, was for the best.
We danced in silence, hearts put to the test,
Each whispered vow a petal, then it goes;
Though shadows linger where our passions rest.
Our memories drift like leaves, never confessed,
A longing in the night that no one knows,
Perhaps lost love, in truth, was for the best.
The promise faded, yet I never guessed
How gentle the release when sorrow grows;
Though shadows linger where our passions rest.
Now hope returns with every golden crest,
A lesson learned as gentle winds compose;
Perhaps lost love, in truth, was for the best.
So I will let you go—heart unrepressed—
A wisdom found amidst the overthrows.
Though shadows linger where our passions rest,
Perhaps lost love, in truth, was for the best.
