Great point to share Demetrios...I watched a program the other day about how riduculous the small amount of money schools actually get to feed children per meal is it's crazy! And I'm sure most of us here donate to food banks.. its a bad problem and growing..

This is true. The worst thing is that it happens here, where it is suppose to be the land of milk and honey. I do try to help when ever I can. In my book - there is always someone that has more tham us and someone that has less. Thanks for sharing... Lucy

Those vultures will keep growing fatter..and children keep dying by the second. We fight for many rights,to be equal,to have the freedom of speech, but these children have a right to live yet their cry go unheard.Excellent poem !

Re: Invitation. Appreciate your efforts for a very good cause, feel it thru and let me know what I can do dear Demetrios, you have my support and blessings. Charity begins at home perhaps we should each start with those near us. I am the leader of a Group (Divine Mercy-Catholic Church) that supplies vegetable soup (nutrition) for our local hospital (only thing we can afford). Our people suffer from diabetes and high blood pressure due to an unbalanced diet. Alofas Tiaua.

A topic close to my heart. Living in our country.. we see so much of it. Children have a right to have a stable environment and nutritional needs met.. at a very basic level.

We who have everything don't like to think about those that don't! It makes us uncomfortable??? Five million!!! Staggering and disgusting! We will join, somehow, some way!

Thank you my dear friend Jack! PLEASE, you that are more involved in poetrysoup, could you help to start something, a fund of a sort, that will collect money for such a holy purpose? GOD BLESS YOU my friend and remember a gram of action rates more than a tone of theory as I have written in another poem of mine! WE COULT DO SOMETHING, WE OUGHT TO DO SOMETHING, WE MUST DO SOMETHING! THANK YOU!

This is such a terrible thing, there shouldn't be a single child to die of hunger! I really hate to hear of even one child not to mention millions! And yes, it is always due to some one elses greed that leads to the death of these people! This is a terrific write about this terrible occurrence! I surely loved reading this ingenious poem here this morning! What a grand piece, though sad, very well written, Great Work!!

Russell, my very good friend, what if we: You and I and the rest of poetrysoupers create a fund to save the starving children? You are an older member of the club and you might know more of how it operates can you do something? Even we would be able to save one child the effort would worth while, don't you think? Thank you!

Great idea for an epigram, perfectly worded short and precise. Thanks for caring dear Demetrios, we may not be hungry here in the Pacific but our islands are slowly sinking due to the same 'vultures of Greed' you mentioned. Tiaua

Thank you so much dearest Tiaua for your interest. If only one has been through the deprivation of food could understand the magnitude of despair hungry people suffer! I think , us that have enough to eat should do something to save some of these children!
