Mentality

I think the world has gone crazy,
Everything seems mad or hazy
Nothing is clear or defined
Affecting my state of mind.

I do not live in Ukraine,
I still feel their incredible pain,
Pain, suffering and despair
Intolerable and so unfair.

When will this carnage end?
Who will be left to defend,
This unnecessary war
That has happened twice before.

Why does the perpetrator
An acknowledged dictator
Need to start a war
Is this what dictators are born for

You can say this again. Can you imagine if our grandparents were alive what they would be saying? "I think the world has gone crazy," for sure!

My husband and I often ask the same question. I was born in London and understand the horror a V2 rocket fell on our local library as my friend and I. were walking home from school on the other side of the road, killing many children and parents who visited the library after school. my friend and I were separated by the blast, Madness then, Madness now, when will we ever learn.

Shirley, I feel the same consternation. I feel the same pain in it all. So unnecessary. Yet so typical of the power-hungry, power-driven despot. He must die. I never thought I'd ever say that sort of thing, but it is required of me in this situation. He must die!

I absolutely do agree with you. I, too, have many war memories. I think of how PM Anthony Eden appeased Hitler, and look what happened. You know, no one wants a nuclear war, but I can see an A-Bomb strategically placed to let him know what we are capable of. Does he think he's the only one who can threaten????

I am so glad that you agree with my view of this abysmal battle. I should have guilty feelings about wishing someone dead, but not in Putin's case. I have too many memories of WW2. Perhaps Putin will commit suicide as Hitler did.

I'm with you, Shirley. The pain is unbearable. Putin will continue until the bitter end, until the last man standing, unfortunately. He is the monster of the 21st century. Hitler reincarnated. His death is the only solution. ~ Gershon

I was born in England in 1937. When I was nearly 8yrs old, I was walking home from school when a V2 rocket fell on the library on the opposite side of the road where my friend and I were walking we were separated by the blast. My friend and I lived next door to each other in Holly St just around the corner from where the rocket dropped. Children used to visit the library after school many were killed that day.
