Mental Fatique
MENTAL FATIGUE
Necrotic daylight,
crimson waves,
dripping into pools
of dark deception;
stagnant air
grasping for the last clarity of light
Illusions echoing;
imagination forcing him to
face the blistering dark
melancholy memories
dig deep into the brain.
On and on into night,
walking helpless, perhaps insane
Deficient in color
shadows compensate;
waves of motion
ooze through spaces
spawning some ill fate
hypnotic humming
Surrounds his head
like an opiate
driven, driving one mad
Darkness becomes oppressor,
seductress in her domain
observing the quality of discomfort
massed upon the damned
night still refused
to recognize the day
belching poisonous phrases
‘till the animated brightness
burns the eye of doubt
with potency of its power
driving the bitter darkness out
