Men Dream Of Fame As Women Wake To Love
Men dream of Fame — as Stars — pursue —
Across the darkened Sky —
They chase the Echo — of their Name —
Till Morning burns it — dry —
But Woman — wakes — as Petals do —
At Dawn’s — unbidden gleam —
Her Heart — the Chamber — of the Sun —
Her Breath — the budding Dream —
The Laurel — crowns the restless brow —
That sought — a World’s Applause —
But Love — it bends — the gentler Knee —
And keeps — Diviner Laws —
The Trumpet — fades — the Banner — falls —
The Ages — lose — their Sound —
Yet — in one Soul’s remembering —
Eternity — is found —
