Memory Jam
Memory Jam
I came in here for something!
Don’t know what it was,
I know that it’s important,
It must have been because
I’ve brought my handbag with me,
Why would I do that?
Unless I’m just not going
But really coming back.
As I’m here, I’ll check to see
If I need to shop tea,
‘Oh my lord’ what’s that in there
I don’t eat that rubbish!
Wait, yes, perhaps I do,
Or was it left in there for you,
I just don’t remember.
I’m tired, I think I’ll take a nap,
Get some sleep and see if that
Activates my brain cells.
Now, where exactly was my room?
It must be round here somewhere!
I don’t recognise this hall,
This carpet or these painted walls,
It’s not my house I’m stood in!!!!!
It’s stuck in time, this brain of mine,
No longer am I able
To function as I once had done,
And scared of how I will become
So very lost and feeble,
I’m not there yet, I still have time
To fight this cruel disease,
But I can’t win, so now I ask,
Will you help me, please!
