Memories of Yesteryear

Looking back over the past
thinking of these formative years
growing up learning of life
so often filled with fears

Fears of so many things
people situations life direction
you have many decisions to form
all of them need right connection

But looking back now years later
the divine hand sent His grace
for as the burdens seemed tough
slowly overcoming to keep in the race

Being reminded life is a marathon
for it is no dashing quick sprint
every single obstacle will be put down
hurdling it one by one my special mint

All of these experiences were a purpose
to fit me for the future all mine
this is in God's planning before time
He knows how to keep me in line

Memories indeed to be thankful
for mercies received by the handful
