Memories Left Behind

Memories left behind

You say you want to leave me
Have you really thought this through?
Are you sure your love for me is gone?
Just stop and think for a minute or two

Who was it that said we are forever
Was it me or was it you?
Ah yes I remember that day
 We both swore our love was true

You have loved me with a passion
And you promised me your heart
Do you think you can just walk away?
It will tear our world apart

There is something I am missing
And I am feeling complete dismay
I simply do not understand it
Why would you leave this way?

I don’t think I can stop my dear
I have loved you for too long
For whatever reason you have
Tomorrow you will still be gone.

Now I sit in my chair and wonder
How can I stop these tears of mine
There are some of your things not taken
All the memories got left behind
