Memories

The wind howls through a shattered heart, broken, shredded, and torn apart. Innocence never had a chance, not when evil cast its first glance. Scarred deep within the soul, burdened with dreams beyond control. Skin still quivers from memories dark, overshadowing even a victory's spark. They strike with no defense or sign, eclipsing joy like a shadowed line. Even from this vast distance, they haunt with cruel persistence. A sweet voice still inflicts the pain, like a dog left tethered to a chain. Forever they linger in the mind, resigned to visions they leave behind. Alesia Leach © 1/2015

A lot of pressure in this, it's not your fault you can't forget- raw imagery, "like a dog tethered to a chain"

That image was one of the hardest to write, so it means everything to hear you felt the pressure behind it. Thank you, Paige, for always seeing the weight beneath the words--you never miss.
