Memories

Memories are hard to forget
like printed images in your head
some are fun but some show pain
memories are what remain

Children grow to be adults
some are weak and some have guts
some can say what's on their mind
and some stay quiet and walk behind

The memories stay loud and clear
and sometimes grip you in such fear
you cannot speak, the words won't come
and so you sit and bite your tongue

You wish you could say what's on your mind
and just leave all the memories behind
but they are there and with you still
and the thought of speaking makes you ill

So you sit and ponder, what you'd say
until your anger fades away
you cannot bring yourself to share
the memories that lie in there.
