Memories

There are times in life
you find yourself
cold and alone
softly as a child
the seasons unchanged
 Where did it go wrong
only a moment ago
the sun was shining
the birds seemed to know my name
praising me in song
 Now it's all faded
surrounded by shades of gray
trying to move forward
but the past has a hold upon me
and it won't let go
 So much history
somehow we've changed
we outgrew each other
even though love is gone
the memories lingers
