Memories

How I miss the touch I knew And love that in our hearts grew Yet space has dulled the kiss I remember That came so sweet, two years November But for that I'll always thank you Memories can be as precious as gold As you cannot replace and they cannot be sold Yet some best forgotten for with them lies danger Hurt feelings in some still others in anger But like at first leave you out in the cold I cannot hide from my memories of you Your laughter echos in all I do With every single turn and twist To my heart it whispers how your missed The happy smiles and eyes of blue Nor can I forget the ones haunting me They con my sleep sneering in glee With hooks in my soul drawing me in Cutting to the marrow deep within Impossible to break; I'll never be free Though some are better left behind When you remember keep this in mind It may not have been the best you knew But for me it was heaven to be with you Love like that is the hardest to find
