Memorial Day
Memorial Day
What does this day mean to me?
Look around you, can’t you see.
We are free to do anything,
Free to just be a human being.
Many men have fought and died,
We don’t have to run and hide.
We honor all those who died, on this Memorial Day,
It was a great human sacrifice they gave away.
They didn’t ask for anything in return,
Our American freedom is what they earned.
We give thanks to all those that died throughout the years,
We stand together as we salute them through our tears.
We rejoice at the thought of our freedom gained,
We mourn at the loss of friends with pain.
We know that freedom isn’t free, for somebody gave,
That’s why America is the land of the free and brave.
