Memoirs

I’m not borne with a lily liver
From vitriol I don’t quiver.
I lived mundane Life in sate
My Heart, not in ire or hate

I grew up a cool and coy boy
But one not anybody’s toy
None would defile or relief
The tenets of my divine belief.

I thrived in difficult times
Mustering Nursery Rhymes
I immersed myself in school
Wishing never to be a fool.

I’ve hearkened to the Sky-
To honour He I always try.
Whenever I see His light
I never take to fuming flight.

Now, I cannot cry or grieve
With a happy family I live
Right Direction to Life I point
Their Future will not disappoint.

Now, I’m a happy bastard
Art of poetry who mastered!!
To be true and not pretend
Makes my heart to contend.

Though Relic on a bust shelf-
I love, I Respect Myself.....
Beginning of any knowledge
Smallness is to acknowledge!

Hey, JM. The last stanza really nailed this one for me and brought the whole thing home. Another good piece from you. I've been absent from the site the past few days so I'll have to catch up on your poems. Kudos, my friend; much enjoyed! :)

Thanks Archaic. I missed you a lot. I have dedicated the whole of this week to poems of introspection, search for my inner emancipation. There is a controversial one entitled American Gentleman- it's just a satire for people who don't practice what they teach! '' Chao. Friend JM
