Melting Away

I’M MELTING AWAY WITH CRAYON PICTURES UNDER THE SUN
I DRAW BIRD AND I BECOME A BIRD
AND FLYING IS SUCH FUN
COLOR ME BLUE
WITH FEATHERS OF ORANGE AND RED
MAYBE I’LL BE AN ANGEL BIRD
WITH A HALO ABOVE MY HEAD
I’LL BUILD MY NEST IN THE TALLEST TREE
THE ONE CLOSEST TO THE SUN
I CAN WATCH OVER THE CHILDREN
AND COMFORT EVERY ONE
I’LL SEARCH FOR A RAINBOW
AND BATHE IN ITS’ SOFT LIGHT
UNTIL THE WIND CARRIES ME
INTO THE GENTLE NIGHT
AND THEN I WILL GO
BACK TO THE COMFORT OF MY NEST
THE MOON HAS TOLD ME THAT IT’S TIME TO REST
I PUT AWAY MY CRAYONS
ALONG WITH MY FADING DREAMS
THE COLORS HAVE MELTED AWAY
BUT I WILL KEEP THESE WINGS©

this surprised me. I started and thought I'd not get into it, but I DID and really thought it was charming. Thanks!
