Melancholy

Melancholy
This next one I write is for you
For the all the ugly things you put me through
To know the gradual decay of my eyes
Into stainless steel
To know the ghosts that linger in all we feel

For all the damage we did to each other
For every time we braved the stormy weather
Together we severed ties to past regrets
Why did we wage a war and laid our bets

My friends take my side and yours take yours
So many ugly truths about you and I from before
So many things that I will never be to you
So many melancholy memories you never put me through

Forget who we were cause my name has changed
Our love was great but it lacked a proper range
I moved out of your view; far, far away from you
I never needed truth; just all the lovely things you used to do
