Meg's Car Breaks Down

Meg’s Car Breaks Down

By Elton Camp

Meg saw her car was running hot
If it should quit, she’d be in a spot

With dark approaching and it growing late
Stranded on the road would be a bad fate

The old car was about to break down
With dismay, Meg looked all around

When to her relief and great delight
She saw a motel with a Vacancy light

Her despair then turned to good cheer
“I can safely spend the night right here.”

When Meg requested a room and bed
“Twelve rooms, twelve vacancies,” he said

She’d been in her room less than an hour
When she decided that she’d take a shower

As she was rinsing her face and her eyes,
A shadowy form gave Meg a surprise

Then she knew she didn’t do well
To dare check in at the Bates Motel

LOL, the poet Hitchcock it seems..... Nicely done weaving a good tale into poetry with clever references to Psycho.

Thanks, I saw a faked picture of a car broken down in front of the "Bates Motel" and got the idea for the write from it. Elton
