Meant To Be
In all of my time I can only wonder,
Is the kindness you show me from your heart?
Or is this some kind of spell you are under?
Do you feel the same thing I do?
A feeling of want so deep it tears me apart,
Wanting even just the presence of you.
Feeling your arms wrap around me,
I wonder if this is how friends behave,
But I will hold you close if it lets you sleep soundly.
Hours spent with you could never be a waste,
In that time all I feel is joy,
Even when it isn’t spent face to face.
Every night we lie awake in secrecy,
Making up any excuse to stay together,
Before wishing each other sweet dreams sleepily.
“I love you” leaves my mouth like a plea,
You answer without a second thought,
You make me feel like we are meant to be.
